North Carolina Museum Of Art

September 15, 2010

This wild structure located in Raleigh, North Carolina is the new home of the North Carolina Museum Of Art. I won’t bore you by telling you it’s the largest museum art park in the country, or that it was designed with state-of-the-art green principles, making it the first completely sustainable museum ever constructed. What I will say is that it was a blast to shoot having been given unprecedented access, there’s just something very cool about being alone in a museum at night with all your buds….Renoir, Degas, Monet, Pablo et al.

If you find yourself in Raleigh with some time on your hands, I highly recommend checking this place out….

Williamsburg Winery

September 7, 2010

This winery located in Williamsburg, Virginia,  is the largest of more than 100 located in the state, accounting for nearly one quarter of all wine production annually. With five star hotel and dining on site, as well as retail stores, cafe’s, banquet halls and more than 50 acres of pristine countryside, there was no hesitation when asked if I’d be interested in going there to shoot.

With no real shooting schedule, I was hired to spend a few days capturing the atmosphere of the facility, with the understanding that more work would be needed in the near future to completely tell their story. At the time of the shoot the vineyards had no mature grapes, so the focus was a mix of traditional as well as editorial type work, incorporating as many vignettes as possible. These images represent only a small fraction of what was shot, and we should be heading back soon to focus our attention on the fields, lifestyle,  as well as banquets and functions.

In case you’re wondering, that final image was my designated transportation. It got me where I needed to go ;)
